YELLOW PAGES

Photos of Cara Barer born from a chance encounter with the Yellow Pages. Love at first sight turns into an experiment aimed when he realizes that, after giving the books to soak in a tub of water for some time, they took new form and utility. Thus begins to look for other books and found that many of those who had not served in the house anymore. With these experiences and work, transforming them into something else, giving them another purpose as well as utility. Permeates the books in the glue, bronze and wax, the volumes become plastic, rubbing them and making them part of a roller kaleidoscope vision. This is why the Yellow Pages are turned into flowers and butterflies made of paper or as I like to think, in a maze of books that lose value to purchase a new one.

No Maintenance Decking Lattice

fragments of memory snapshots

Maggie Taylor reconstructs and includes fragments of the past through photographic manipulation. At first it was the assembly of old photographs, objects and parts of text to create three-dimensional collage then photographed. Now part of the scanning old snapshots or drawings to obtain, through a manipulation with Photoshop, results of which maintain the charm of the past and stand the technological versatility of digital photography. In the selection of subjects, colors and settings there is an allusion not only to the past, even the drawings of children where no solution is bold or out of place because it is situated on the sacred territory of the imagination. "When I start work on an image I have no idea what the end result." It could not be otherwise since its creation process is a convergence of memories and dreams can not be controlled (the implications of a dream can be highly unpredictable), different for everyone.
